 In 2003

The AADG ran by Francis McKie and Michael MacLeod, was working with the Highland council and Eden Court to bring Drama Workshops to 4 local primary school. One of which was Kiltearn Primary School.

During the workshop Francis and Michael asked the pupils from classes 5 – 7 if they would like to have a drama club in Evanton. Everyone said, “YES”.

 In 2004

But it was not until 2004 before the wheels got in motion. The club staff of the Alness Academy Drama Group decided it was time to do another drama workshops this time it was only us, who did all the leg work. We did a workshop at the Evanton Sport Centre directly across from Kiltearn Primary School so we could do even more. Once again we asked the pupils at the workshop if they would like to have a drama club in Evanton. Once again the answer was “YES”.

2 week’s later the Evanton Entertainers Drama Club was added to Evanton

 In 2005

In the start of 2005 we began to work with an organisation called DRAMA UK. They have given us a lot of support and resources and now we can offer even more. In July 2005 we looked at how the drama club had expanded a lot quicker than our Alness group.

With new activities starting in August 2005 we decided that as we don’t just do drama we will have to change the club. As from August 2005 the Evanton Entertainers Drama Club will now be known as Evanton Entertainers Youth Club.

In September we started the double sessions.

In October - December we worked with the Evanton Over 60's Club doing filming for them

In November we raised £66 for Children In Need. By doing 2 parties and a raffle to win Pudsey the Bear.

On Sat 3rd of December the Youth Club did carol singing on Balconie Street for the Evanton Fundraisng Group who did the Santa's Grotto

On Tuesday 13th of December 2005 we ran the annual Chritmas party a week earlier than planned. Which went to great success and the kids loved it.

November 2006
The National Theatre of the Highlands worked in partnership with Culloden Army Cadet Forces and used our expertise and there talent to help create there own version of channel 4 awards winning game show Deal or No Deal. But our version army style rather than winning money the contestants who were the Culloden Army Cadets who played the role as the leaders of each of the local other cadet sections. Rather than money they would win a rank so if the contestant was a sergeant and there was a captain rank in the box then they would be promoted and vice versa. They wan second prize in the competition they took part in at the Army Cadets Headquarters in Dingwall in 2006. One of the Culloden Army Cadets who we worked with was accepted on X Factor 2007.
